After a blockbuster kick-off as participant in the 2016 edition, Patrick Zaniroli and the Zaniroli Classic Events team decided to take the helm of the most challenging Alpine road rally to pen a fresh chapter in this epic tale! In the purest tradition of pre-war Alpine road rallies, the Alps Trophy it's a humdinger – with no respite during the 4 grueling days at the wheel and 4 particularly tricky legs for the competitors and their machines. From the Aedèche to the Hautes Alpes, winding through the Drôme, the Haute Provence Alpes, the Isère and the Savoie regions, we’re pulling out all the stops! Climbing up and down the slopes, through the most demanding passes, you’ll also take in the most prestigious trails including the Mont Ventoux and the Galibier.

Trails zigzag in every direction, as far as the eye can see. Cliffs rise to 2,000 meters above sea level. And the connecting legs take you through the incomparable valleys. A route designed by Albert Rousset between the two world wars, the “Rallye des Alpes” paved the way for what was to become one of the most dif cult in the entire history of motor sports. Updated and improved for 2018 with all the talent and experience of the Zaniroli Classic Events, the Alps Trophy promises to be the highest point on the season’s roster! With nearly 1,300 kilometers to cover in just three legs that include ten mountain passes to cross each and every day, there will certainly be sweat and tears. A tricky, unprecedented regularity challenge that will test the skills of drivers and co-pilots alike all along this route, which will be as amazing to ponder as it will be to navigate. Another unique aspect of this Alps Trophy: unlike most regularity rallies, the timing is very closely clocked. Every stop, even during connecting legs, is penalized and the teams must also grapple with the local speed limits. As you can see, while a friendly, fun-loving ambiance is integral to all Patrick Zaniroli events, in keeping with the Dakar champion’s inherent style, the 2018 Alps Trophy will be extremely demanding, for the crews as well as their cars!
