The spirit of this famous legacy race is still alive - in the Rallye des Princesses1929-2009: Following in the footsteps of the Paris Saint-Raphaël Féminin® !
Created in february 1929, by the comte de Rohan-Chabot, the first female race Paris-Vichy-Hyères-Saint-Raphaël already combined sport, agreement and pleasure of good time.
The entries were numerous from the begginning, the first classic female race was already shown the same tendancy than a grand race. Through the years, several famous feminine drivers gave it its notoriety
The comtesse de Lesguern, the baronne d'Elern livened up the first one, then famous drivers as the young Renée Friderich on Buggatti, Miss Betty Haig, wonderful English Chamion, Lucy Schell lover of Delahaye, Simone des Forest on Amilcar, Mrs Marinovitch on Voisin, Germaine Rouault, English woman pilot Amy Johnson, Yvonne Simon with her Hotchkiss Grand Sport and her serial of six victories. Then everything stopped with the war and everything borned again the 28th february 1951. After it is the arrival of the « nouvelle vague » the racing drivers new age as Nicole Roure and Annie Soisbault, French and European Champion, Gilberte Thirion and her Porsche 936, Lucette Pointet, winner in 1963 on DS19, Louisette Texier, Cathy Pitt, Colette Perrier, Gaby Renaud, Annie Gérard, then Claudine Bouchet-Trautmann, French multi-Champion who won 5 times in 1964, 66, 67,68 et 69, or Marie-Pierre Palayer winner in 1970, Michelle Mouton whm it was the real first race, Martine de Cortanze, Annie-Charlotte Verney, Christine Dacremont, Pat Moss and her Alpine Renault, Marie-Claude Beaumont and Marie-Madeleine Fouquet on their Chevrelet Camaro, Marianne Hopfner whom won twice in 1972 and 1973, to finsih by « Biche » and Christine Beckers whom won the last race in 1974
