French Off-Road Champion, winner of Dakar in 1985 (1st time for Mitsubishi), former competitive driver, founder of the Atlas Rally in Morocco, 12 years as Athletic Director for the Dakar (form 1994 to 2005),

45 Dakars (including 4 victories) and no less than 15 years of organisational expertise under their combined belts.Together they will head up the management team for this exciting new event, enabling you to reap the benefits of their vast experience and discover the unique Africa they love with such deep passion.
SAFETY
While the Transafricaine aims to plunge you back into the very roots of the rally-raid tradition, we won’t neglect modern safety precautions. Nothing has been left up in the air. Even the most minute details will be seen to by the expert team of FIDELIA, a specialized service provider with 13 years of experience on the Paris-Dakar.Their medical teams will have five 4x4 medically equipped vehicles along the route as well as a helicopter. At the bivouac, they will set up a mini, “country” hospital to treat injuries and ailments.
They can call for an emergency evacuation due to health concerns at any time. So rest assured: you’re in good hands.
CATERING-FOOD
Each evening, our caterers will help you “refuel” with a healthy, appetizing buffet in a friendly atmosphere at the authentic bivouac canteen. The J.D.B. crew has been dishing out savory meals with a smile for desert adventurers of the Paris-Dakar for 10 years now. They also handle all the food service for the Marathon des Sables. They know how to satisfy your needs.PRESS
Madie PESCAROLO, quite familiar with handling press relations at major sporting events, like her husband’s participation as driver in the 24-Hour Le Mans, will be in charge of managing all TV and Press Relations for this event.TRAVEL
