Your dream come true

Visuel-TAC-uk-2008-300WEB.jpg To choose to take part to the TransAfricaine Classic it is the insurance to arrive to Dakar!

Another way of rejoining Paris in Dakar: the Rally raid of regularity organized by a man who knows well Africa and the secrecy of his tracks: Patrick Zaniroli, victorious of Paris-Dakar 1985 (it gave its 1st victory at Mitsubishi) and Directing Sportsman of Dakar of 1994 to 2005.

Your dream come true

Portrait_PZ_250wIMG_6919.jpg“An adventure for those who hit the road, a dream come true for those who stick with it”, as Thierry Sabine used to say back in the good ‘ole days.
After overcoming all the challenges of a first edition event, the TransAfricaine Classic, which will forever remain engrained in our most treasured memories, wrote the first chapter in what promises to be a long and beautiful saga.

By making the dream come true, this event has proven itself to be the missing link. The one which had eroded over time and now brings us back onto the original track.
Since this is much more than just another sports event, geared toward following the path of a pre-existing trail, the TransAfricaine Classic forged a new path, gave birth to a new discipline, inviting us all to explore new horizons - more in synch with the African continent, and perfectly adapted to its unique dynamics.

I wanted to transfer the magic of regularity allies to the context of the mythical Sahara desert, while cultivating a sort of back to basics movement, with fun and sharing, and genuine discovery throughout this exciting journey.

webDSC_0094Transafricaine_2.jpgThe arrival at the finish line on the beaches of Dakar’s famous Rose Lake, the entire caravan was filled with the same sense of pride: that of having successfully blended and balanced a fabulous new chemistry.
Drawing on the two wonderful weeks of powerful memories, each and everyone involved in this rally told marvellous tales of truly unforgettable experiences - starting with the incredible challenge of reconciling travel through hostile yet breath-takingly beautiful terrain with careful pacing rather than pure speed.

The new goal was to find just the right rhythm, to reach Dakar in perfect harmony, without ever slipping off-key, to travel across spectacular land, meeting amazing people and changing one’s outlook and understanding of things forever. Taking the time to do it right.
And all the while nurturing a spirit of solidarity and mutual support like we’ve not seen in quite some time on the African rally circuit.

The beautiful reality of this 1st edition showed us that we were right to believe in our dreams. So you can understand why I have my sights set more than ever on joining you all once again in November 2007 for the 2nd TransAfricaine Classic. Patrick Zaniroli
