Everyone knows the old adage, which is becoming increasingly pertinent these days: time is money. So how do we reconcile our passion for adventure and our desire to experience Dakar with our very limited free time?
In an effort to meet the needs of the vast majority of our past and potential participants, we decided to redesign the TransAfricaine Classic with a 10-day format (1 week and 2 week-ends) instead of the usual schedule which lasted nearly 3 weeks.
In 2009, the TransAfricaine Classic will take place

Ten straight days of all-out driving, without any connecting legs! The vehicles will be shipped out 8 days in advance of the participants, who’ll simply hop on a plane and quickly arrive at the starting line. This saves everyone a good week of travel to jump right into the heat of the action!
In addition, we’re considering setting up options for pre-starts in several European countries to allow everyone the opportunity to honour their sponsors..
In 2009, the TransAfricaine Classic will save time …
