Henri Pescarolo has raced 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 Neige & Glace editions. He will run with a Berlinette Alpine 1600, 1970's with Philippe Le Quentrec. He comes in 2010 ... to win!

Following the phenomenal success of our 2009 edition in the Haut Doubs and the Jura, it’s without the slightest hesitation that we invite you to join us for the 56th annual Neige & Glace Rally (Snow & Ice Rally) this coming February 7th to the 10th, in the chilliest region of France. All dressed in sparkling snow, our "Little Siberia", and more specifically the Malbuisson region, once again awaits your arrival to partake one of the most renown and spectacular winter motor sport events, not more than a week after the famous Monte-Carlo Historic rally.

Quiet little forest roads, often tucked beneath a thick blanket of snow, lead you secretly through the wilderness, unveiling France’s most remote "white deserts". The Haut Doubs and Jura offer the perfect recipe to enchant the most avid fans of beautiful cars and winter driving.

Right on the Swiss border, just 300 kilometres from Paris and little over 500 kilometres from Brussels, the Haut Doubs & Jura have all you could ever want – as was proven in last year’s edition. Nine hundred kilometres spread over three days of pure pleasure and delightful competition. Endless stretches of slipping and sliding: rev’ up your engines, it’s bound to be an amazing ride! Even the hard core ‘studded tyre gang’ had the time of their lives last year, as the well-known co-pilot Robert Roriffe testifies:

Two different enrolment options

Starting in Malbuisson, at an altitude of 900 metres, we’ll continue the traditional 3 days of loops around a central hotel, the cosy charm of which unquestionably won the hearts of last year’s participants. But to make sure we meet the expectations of each and everyone, we’ll also offer an alternative. The first option is the all inclusive package, covering your enrolment in the rally, lodging at the 3-star Hôtel Le Lac (the rally’s headquarters) and all meals. The second option covers only your enrolment in the rally, the daily luncheons and the final gala dinner, leaving you the freedom to choose your own lodging and make your own dinner arrangements in the neighbouring villages.

A new and improved road book

From February 7th to 10th, that’s one week after the Monte Carlo Historic Rally, the 56th annual Snow & Ice Rally offers the ideal follow-up to the winter’s big headliner event. Here too, we strive to satisfy everyone’s needs by creating a fresh new road book that’s virtually perfect, totally updated and re-designed by the finest experts in the field..

Opening classic car: Twelve hours ahead of the pack, a dynamic little Renault Berlinette Alpine driven by former cross-country ski champ Jean-Paul Pierrat with the Belgian tracer Alain Lopes by his side, will make all the necessary changes to get you the latest and most accurate info on the regularity sectors you’ll be tackling the next day.

Thus, every day you’ll face a new 250 to 300 km loop along tiny roads, interspersed with 6 regularity sectors, each of which will feature anywhere from 2 to 10 secret finish lines, thanks to the clocking via GPS Tripy installed in each vehicle, making the competition all that much more intense!

A nighttime prologue and a special icy circuit!

But the 2010 surprises won’t stop there! To add even more excitement to this 56th Snow & Ice Rally, we’ve decided to plunge you right into the heat of the subject, from the get-go. On the evening of February 7th, immediately following the technical and administrative verifications, you’ll partake in a nighttime prologue to determine the next day’s starting line-up in the various categories. It’s a great opportunity to test both your equipment and your reflexes, and to give everyone a little taste of the treats to come over the next three days along France’s most breath-taking roads. Plus, thanks to the local authorities’ help, this 56th edition will take a short side trip to the Métabief ski resort to compete in an extraordinary regularity sector on an icy circuit that’s been specially opened up just for this event.
